About

The Fan Experience Company has, for nearly two decades now, developed a unique way to assess the fan experience: a qualitative, story-telling approach undertaken by experienced assessors who not only understand the customer journey (and every single touch point) but who also know what good looks like.

This unique approach not only generates improvement solutions but, as a result of conveying the fan’s experiences in their own words, can act as a powerful catalyst for reflection, different thinking and innovation.

The company is associated with the general fan experience through its diverse and award-winning programmes. These include the EFL Family Excellence scheme (2007 to date), the WSL / WC scheme (2011 to date), the Premiership Rugby Fan Experience programme (launched in March 2023), the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Finals programme (November 2022) and several individual club programmes both in the UK and abroad.

We also understand the relationship between a fan and their match day. We wrote the world’s first certificate in fan engagement for FC Barcelona’s Innovation Hub. We have twice received Best Practice awards (Football Business Awards and European Club Association) and we write and speak on the subject of fan engagement and fan experience to this day.

We continue to work at every level of football (both men’s and women’s, professional, amateur and grass roots, at national association, league and club level) throughout Europe. We are the only consultancy focusing on the match day experience: an area of significantly more value to clubs outside of the ‘elite’.

As well as the EFL, with whom we have had an extremely positive and effective working relationship since 2006, we also count the following among our clients: FIFA, UEFA, the FA, Stoke City, Bristol City, Southampton, the SPFL, the Barclays WSL / WC, the FA Women’s National League, The Danish Women’s League, the Norwegian Women’s League (Toppserien), the FAI / League of Ireland, The elite Netherlands Men’s League (Eredivisie), The Estonian Premium Liiga, The Danish Men’s League (Superliga), The Danish Women’s League, the elite Spanish Women’s League (Liga F) and every level of the English National League System for both men’s and women’s football.
