"We want to fill it" - Huddersfield Town CEO offers key stadium update

Huddersfield Town’s Chief Executive Mark Devlin admitted on twitter that the lower tier of the Fantastic Media Stand needs to be looked at as Town try to plan and improve their fan’s experience for each home game.

Terriers fan and podcaster Richard Kosmala stated on Twitter he felt it “looks poor behind the goal when Hoggs scores” talking about the winner from Saturday’s home game against Millwall.

“Just wonder if we (sic) missing a trick not building some safe standing down there? Could give away end all to away fans and we’d have a proper home end!” he continued.

Town’s CEO was moved to reply “Richard, I agree. I really don’t like seeing those empty seats in the Fantastic lower.”

He continued “Problem is the lack of facilities & infrastructure in what is, essentially, a ‘bolted on’ stand. We are looking at how we can build & improve this, so we can utilise that area.”

“We still have a good number of seats in the other stands to fill but, of course, we want to fill the entire home areas and the current facilities in Fantastic lower do not lend themselves to a great experience.”

In October’s update last week Devlin focused on improvements the club had made this season having welcomed fans back to the John Smith’s Stadium after their Covid absence.
