Coronavirus: Sports in talks with government over return of fans
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said the club will adopt a careful approach in the transfer market due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bundesliga league leaders have been continuously linked with Manchester City’s Leroy Sané, with the winger expected to move to the Allianz Arena when the transfer window eventually opens.
However, with the financial impact of the pandemic unknown at this stage, Rummenigge has sought to lower expectation about Bayern’s potential incomings.
Speaking to ARD after the 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday, Rummenigge said: “We will have to wait and see how this curious transfer market after coronavirus develops.
“We all do well to do our job and also take into account that the next season may be more financially challenging than the current one.
“The longer we have to play without a spectator, the more difficult it will be financially.
Bayern face Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday needing just two wins to retain the Bundesliga title.
