The EFL Family Excellence scheme won ‘best fan engagement programme’ at Friday’s Sports Business Awards in London.
Our 11-season partnership with the EFL has delivered an exponential rise in junior attendance across all 3 divisions. The first 10 years delivered a 37% increase, contributing to the League’s highest aggregate attendances since 1959.
‘To be short-listed alongside such ‘benchmark’ organisations as UEFA and FIFA was more than enough for us’ said Mark Bradley, founder of the Fan Experience Company. ‘But to emerge as the winner has got to be one of our proudest moments.’
Mark went on the pay tribute to colleagues at the EFL, his own team and the professional assessors and families who, year-in and year-out, continue to provide the ‘supporter perspective’ that gives clubs the fuel to innovate, to engage and to attract and retain new young fans.
‘Past and present friends at the EFL, like Darren Bernstein, Andrea Brown and Andy Pomfret, have made family engagement part of the culture across the Football League, while our team continues to chalk up the miles across the country, identifying and sharing best practices.’
This is our second major award. In 2013, the organisation won the European ‘Best Practice’ prize at the EPFL Awards.
The Fan Experience Company works across Europe, helping associations, leagues and clubs to create the conditions for sustainable attendance growth. For more information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or visit www.fanexperienceco.com
